Moral Principle of Measuring Biomass

Measuring and counting organisms is helpful to understand whole community changes, to compare the energy output of plant species, to compare the demand for nutrients by various species, to determine whether the health of a site is changing and to estimate the hydrological properties of the area. However, the process of measuring or counting organisms may fail to return them to the same ecosystem. All living organisms include nutrients which is necessary to live. There is a nutrient cycle between the nature and the organisms. For example plants produce their own food which is C6H12O6. They use nutrients from the ground and leave the nutrients back when they die. There is a limited amount of nutrients on the earth. For this reason the nutrients should be recycled to continue the cycle. When the organisims are dried to measure and count, the organic matter shoul be returned to the sample site to be recycled for nutrients and energy. If the nutrients are not recycled, the limited amount of nutrients cannot be enough for all living organisms. For this reason returning the nutrients and energy is a moral principle while measuring and counting the organisms.
